KERUI at IFA 2026 Berlin: How DIY Smart Home Security Is Reshaping The Industry

Berlin, 4–8 September 2026 — KERUI , one of China's earliest and most experienced manufacturers of home security products, completed a strong showing at IFA 2026, the world's largest trade show for consumer electronics, home appliances and future tech. KERUI presented its full home IoT hardware matrix: Tuya-powered WiFi and Zigbee alarm systems, DIY alarm kits, wireless doorbells, temperature and humidity sensors, and a smart lighting line — all united under a single promise: “Home Security & Smart Living, your one-stop solution for a safe and secure home.”

More than a product showcase, KERUI's presence in Berlin reflects three structural shifts that are redefining the smart home security industry: the rise of DIY installation, the dominance of open ecosystems, and the growing importance of compliance and manufacturing depth.

IFA 2026 put smart living at the center of the stage

IFA 2026 delivered record-breaking results: more than 240,000 visitors from 155 countries and over 2,000 exhibitors gathered in Berlin under the show's motto, “The Future Is Now.” Smart living was one of the defining themes — from AI-powered appliances and connected kitchens to smart outdoor and garden solutions, the connected home expanded far beyond the living room.

For manufacturers, equally important was IFA Global Markets (5–7 September), the show's dedicated B2B sourcing platform, which connected suppliers from more than 20 countries with retailers, distributors and product managers. It is precisely this channel where export-oriented manufacturers such as KERUI meet the European buyers who decide which products reach their shelves.

DIY is becoming the mainstream of home security

Industry data points to a structural change: DIY is no longer the low-cost alternative, but increasingly the default way households secure their homes. According to Statista and the European Smart Home Association, smart security device penetration among EU households reached approximately 28% in 2026, up from 19% in 2023, and Germany remains the largest European market, contributing roughly 23% of regional smart home security revenues.

For manufacturers, the implication is clear: winning products must be self-installable, subscription-free and app-native. KERUI's DIY alarm kits and plug-and-play sensor line are built exactly around this logic.

Consumers buy ecosystems, not isolated gadgets

The second structural change is platformization. Consumers no longer buy a single siren or sensor; they buy into an ecosystem where devices talk to each other and to the apps they already use. KERUI's alarm series runs on the Tuya platform, one of the world's largest open IoT ecosystems, enabling cross-brand interoperability, a single-app experience and voice control with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Equally deliberate is KERUI's dual-protocol approach — WiFi and Zigbee. WiFi devices connect directly to the cloud without a hub, making installation truly plug-and-play; Zigbee devices form a low-power mesh network that keeps dozens of sensors responsive and extends battery life. Together, the two protocols let homeowners start small and scale to a whole-home system. This logic was visible throughout KERUI's booth: alarms, doorbells, sensors, thermometers and lighting displayed as one connected ecosystem rather than a shelf of unrelated gadgets.

What KERUI showcased in Berlin

KERUI's booth presented the full scope of its product matrix, with live demonstrations of each product family:
----DIY alarm kits: complete, self-installable kits that let consumers build a professional-grade security setup in minutes — no contract, no subscription.
----Tuya WiFi and Zigbee security systems: a WiFi gateway paired with a 24/7 motion sensor, door sensor, water leak detector and gas detector — covering intrusion, flooding and gas risks in one system, with every event pushed to the user's phone.
----Thermometer and hygrometer: three-channel sensor data display with a long transmission range; it instantly alerts the user's phone when temperature exceeds a preset range, and is equally at home monitoring pools or pet tanks.
----Smart lighting: an eye-protective, hands-free reading light; an ultra-thin aluminum motion-sensing night light; and a solar-powered garden light that installs in seconds as either a landscape or wall light.
Throughout the five days, the booth drew steady traffic from European retailers, distributors and technology partners — engagement that underscores KERUI's role not only as a brand, but as a manufacturing partner for the global security industry.

Compliance and manufacturing depth become the moat

KERUI has accumulated more than 20 years of R&D in the security industry, holds over 500 patents, operates a 46,000-square-meter production base and sells into more than 50 countries and regions. Its own industrial park in Heyuan — fully operational since 2019 — gives the company end-to-end control from hardware design and firmware to mass production, forming the foundation of its OEM/ODM business for security brands and smart home companies worldwide. Backed by Guangdong's “Yue Mao Global” export promotion program, this full-chain capability positions KERUI as a one-stop supplier as Europe's security market consolidates around fewer, more capable manufacturers.

IFA 2026 confirmed what the market data has been signaling for two years: smart home security is moving from optional gadgetry to the everyday foundation of connected living. The companies best positioned to lead are those that combine DIY-friendly hardware, open ecosystem integration and manufacturing scale. KERUI left Berlin with a clear message — whether as a consumer brand or an OEM/ODM partner, it is ready to help retailers and technology companies build the next generation of home security.
